U.S. COMEDY ARTS FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES SPECIAL SCREENING OF "DEATH TO SMOOCHY" ON FEBRUARY 28

Warner Bros. Pictures Brings "Death To Smoochy" and Cast Members Robin Williams, Edward Norton, Catherine Keener, Danny DeVito and Jon Stewart to Aspen for Special Event Highlighted at Eighth Annual Festival

NEW YORK, January 29, 2002 - The U.S. Comedy Arts Festival (USCAF) and HBO announced today that the satirical comedy "Death To Smoochy," presented by Warner Bros. Pictures in association with FilmFour and Senator Entertainment, will be shown at a special screening during the 2002 "Film Discovery Program" at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, CO. The film will be previewed on Thursday, February 28, at the Wheeler Opera House. Additional comedic short and feature films will be highlighted throughout the Festival from February 27 through March 3.

In addition to the screening, cast members Robin Williams, Edward Norton, Catherine Keener and Jon Stewart, as well as director/cast member Danny DeVito and producer Andrew Lazar will be on hand to do a Q&A.

Set against the cutthroat world of children's television, "Death to Smoochy" tells the story of Rainbow Randolph (Robin Williams), the corrupt, costumed star of a popular children's TV show, who is fired over a bribery scandal and replaced by squeaky-clean Smoochy (Edward Norton), a puffy fuchsia rhinoceros. As Smoochy catapults to fame - scoring hit ratings and the affections of a jaded network executive (Catherine Keener) - Randolph makes the unsuspecting rhino the target of his numerous outrageous attempts to exact revenge and reclaim his status as America's sweetheart.

"Death to Smoochy" is scheduled for release in North America on March 29 by Warner Bros. Pictures, an AOL Time Warner Company. This film has been rated R by the MPAA for "language and sexual references."
