RED DRAGONDecca Records/UMG Soundtracks Releases Danny Elfman's Electrifying ScoreFrom The Thrilling Prequel To The Silence Of The Lambs & Hannibal CD Available September 24, 2002(New York, NY, August 13, 2002) - Based on the best-selling novel by Thomas Harris, Red Dragon is the eagerly anticipated prequel to The Silence of the Lambs, winner of five Academy Awards including Best Picture, and Hannibal. Directed by Brett Ratner, the film stars OscarŽ nominee Edward Norton as ex-FBI agent Will Graham, an expert investigator who quit the Bureau after almost losing his life in the process of capturing the elusive Dr. Lecter, played again by Academy AwardŽ winner Anthony Hopkins. The haunting music heard in the movie was written by film score-extraordinaire Danny Elfman, and is slated for release September 24, 2002 from Decca Records/UMG Soundtracks. For almost a decade, Danny Elfman has masterfully scored the darker side of Hollywood. From monsters to super heroes, innocence to malevolence, Elfman adds a mystical touch that distinguishes him from other composers. As a member of the legendary rock band, Oingo Boingo, Danny Elfman is one of the few artists that have established themselves as both a composer and rock star. He has drawn a large legion of fans, all of whom find his work refreshingly original and innovative. His music from numerous projects including Batman, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Planet of The Apes, Spiderman and soon, Superman, have garnered him accolades around the world, including a Grammy for Batman. In Red Dragon, Elfman's compelling score melds perfectly into every hair-raising scene, reinforcing the intensity cascading throughout the masterful plot. A striking disc from start to finish, subsequent soundtrack listens rekindles the excitement and suspense similarly felt when watching the movie unfold on screen for the first time. Added features of this enhanced CD include interviews with Elfman, along with director Brett Ratner, as well as Hannibal himself, Anthony Hopkins. Also included on the enhanced CD is the Red Dragon trailer, exclusive photos and web links. In Red Dragon, after a series of particularly grisly murders, Will Graham's character reluctantly agrees to come out of retirement and assist in the case. But he soon realizes that the best way to catch this killer, known as the Tooth Fairy, is to find a way to get inside the killer's mind. And the closest thing to that would be to probe the mind of another killer who is equally brilliant and equally twisted. For Graham, that means confronting his past and facing his former nemesis, the now-incarcerated Lecter. Rounding out the award winning cast are Academy Award nominees Ralph Fiennes, Emily Watson and Harvey Keitel. Universal Pictures and the Dino De Laurentiis Company in association with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer present Red Dragon in theaters everywhere October 4, 2002. ### Contact: cinemediapromo@yahoo.com
