Out of the Past (1998)- This documentary switches between a Utah teen's battle to create a Gay-Straight Alliance at her high school to the struggles of gay men and women throughout history. The historical segments have actors reading from letters and diaries of the individuals chronicled. EN reads the writings of Henry Gerber, who founded the first gay rights organization in Chicago.
American Experience: War Letters Aired November 11, 2001 (Veteran's Day) on PBS- EN, Esai Morales, Joan Allen and David Hyde Pierce will read letters between soldiers and their families over stock footage, home movies, photos, etc. as part of this PBS program.
Forever Hollywood-documentary on the history of Hollywood filmmaking. EN is interviewed in the film.
Independent Film Channel commercials- Norton and Matt Damon are featured in one commercial where they are both sucking up to 6-year-old super director "Christie".
Saturday Night Live (3/20/99) skit- Norton participates in a skit from this episode of SNL featuring Drew Barrymore as host.
The Simpsons episode - EN was a guest voice in an episode where Homer and Bart became father-son grifters.
Ambush at Fort Bragg (1997)-This is essentially more than a book-on-tape of Tom Wolfe's novella. It is a performance with Edward Norton providing the narration and all the voices for this story of an ambitious news producer trying to get proof that three young soldiers killed another solely because he was gay.
Only in America- video shot before Primal Fear. It consists of 8 segments (5 of which include Norton) and is used as teaching aide for English as a second language (ESL) classes. Click here to learn more about the video
The Student Film- While he was an undergraduate at Yale, EN did a student film. He describes it as "a parody of old Bogart and noir movies...it was kind of a cult hit around school for two years." What are the chances that this film will come to light anytime soon? Well, unfortunately for the general public, Mr. Norton thinks ahead. He has said that he obtained the rights to the film and "buried" it.
