Tiny Life
|
|
fightclub.com reports that Fox created another website for Fight Club, this one at www.tinylife.com. This site
contains a Shockwave presentation with images of Brad Pitt and the rules of Fight Club listed. The first website that Fox released www.tylerdurden.com, has a
Shockwave presentation with images of Edward Norton. The poster for Fight Club is out. However, the retailer I contacted that gave me this info wasn't too impressed with the poster, which apparently
is similar to the mag ads and is just a bar of soap (I think it also says "Works great on blood stains"), and decided not to buy any posters at all. Fight Club will debut at the Venice Film Festival on September 10th
[Thanks to heather for the info!]. TNT's
Rough Cut Fall review has a summary of Fight Club

Fight Club ad
|
|
Another Fight Club ad is out, this time with the likenesses of Edward Norton and Brad Pitt included with the bar of pink soap. This ad was from Screen International magazine and was part of a Fox ad declaring their
pride at being accepted into the Venice Film Festival, which starts Wed Sept 1st [Thanks to
simon_t_doc_7 for the image and the information!]. Earlier it has been stated that David Fincher, Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, and Helena Bonham Carter will
be in Venice for the premiere. AFI's 100 Years... 100 Stars will be shown on the Family Channel Thurs Sept 2 and Sat Sept 18. EN is one of the actors that talks about his favorite screen legends [Thanks to
Galxegrl11 for the info!]. The Newsweek article on Fight Club has been posted on
Newsweek.com- click here to read the article. There was some problem with the Quizlet that was preventing the main page from loading, so I have had to temporarily disable it. Hopefully, I can
put it back up soon.

Fight Club articles, AHX on
video, KTF pics
|
|
Newsweek (Sept 6 issue, on sale 8/30/99) has an article about Fight Club. The press release on the article provides only one side of the
story. Which side? Well, the main quote is 'I Pray Washington Doesn't Want Kids to See This'... 'What Better Way to Sell It.' by a "source close to Fight Club." Not exactly a puff
piece. American History X is now available to buy on video- click here for more info from Amazon.com.
Rounders is now showing on STARZ [Thanks to Joanne for the info!]. TV Times (a UK magazine) has an article on EN and Heat (UK mag) and
Rolling Stone (David Spade on the cover- fall movie preview) , and the New York Daily News have small articles on Fight Club, and Empire magazine (UK mag- Austin Powers cover)
has a small article and two pics from Keeping the Faith [Thanks to
starbellyhamster, annicasvensson, and heather for the info!]

Fight Club soundtrack, ads
|
|
Amazon.com reports that the Fight Club soundtrack (by the Dust Brothers) will be released on September 28 Click here for more info! Gear magazine's Sept issue has a second version of the Fight Club ad [Thanks to
FightClub9 for the info!]. The pink soap with the "Fight Club" protruding
is still the same, only the caption is different - "Wash your feminine side clean off". This is going to take a little scrubbing. Speaking of pink soap, it apparently is one of
the items included in a promo pack sent to the press that is up for auction on eBay. Here is the description for the promo items:
FIGHT CLUB items sent to press in anticipation of movie's release...metal soap dish, bar of pink
glycerin soap (with fight club logo) and tag explaining history of soap.....brown feather (wrapped in kraft with 'fight
club' tape and tag explaining that if you stick a feather up your butt, you should wash your hands
(apparently with pink soap)....not exactly p.c. but then the movie isn't either......

Now I've seen everything
|
|
What the Bukk is this? Joanne has uncovered a shocking link associated with Keeping the Faith. I'm too stunned to talk about it. If you want to see it (let me reassure
you that you don't have to do anything that you don't want to), you should click here
|
Tyler Durden
|
|
fightclub.com reports that FOX will start a "major Internet promotional push" for Fight Club on the official site in the weeks to come.
Now you can view a shockwave teaser (a bunch of pictures of Edward Norton) if go to tylerdurden.com (Tyler Durden is the name of Brad Pitt's character in Fight
Club) [Thanks to Joanne for the info!]. While exploring tylerdurden.com, I came upon a section where you can send Fight Club postcards-

A Streetcar Named Desire
|
|
Edward Norton in A Streetcar Named Desire?- According to the New York Post (8/13/99) Entertainment Section, Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire featuring
Meryl Streep, Edward Norton and Julianne Moore may be the first of a series of "star-studded staged readings of classic American plays to mark the turn of the century" to be sponsored
by Jujamcyn Theaters. Take a look at the NY Post article or at the
Mr. Showbiz article [Thanks to Cornella for the info!]. Sept issue of Premiere includes
a new pic of EN and Brad Pitt from Fight Club. Don't look for it in the fall film preview section, though, Fight Club is absence from that feature. fightclub.com
mentions that there are print ads for Fight Club in ESPN and Playboy magazines. If it's not the same print ad as the one in Maxim (pink soap with title above stating "Works Great on Blood
Stains"), please let me know [Thanks to Joanne for the fightclub.com info!]. Check the VCR/Magazine alerts page for new magazines.

Fight Club trailer online
|
|
The Fight Club trailer B is now available for download via fightclub.com. Entertainment Weekly next issue (available Monday 8/16) is a
fall film preview so it should have a fair amount of coverage of Fight Club. I am distressed to report that the combination of infighting and an excessive number of messages have triggered
a mass exodus from the main mailing list. There are two other mailing lists available. Unlike the main mailing list, which allows people to send messages freely, I have complete control as to the content and
the number of messages that are sent out in the other lists. More

Fight Club is one of the movies listed in Mr.

Fight Club TV segments and
articles
|
|
I've had a family emergency, so my future updates will be whenever I can. Access Hollywood will have segments TONIGHT (7/14/99) and Thurs on Fight Club [Thanks to
Cornella and Joanne for the info!]. There are a lot of magazines with Fight Club related items, the most recent being Wired (which talks about the special effects). Check the VCR/Mag alert page. The Vanity Fair pictures are now in the Photo Gallery.
I've moved everything over so that I can more easily update, so there may be some broken links. I probably will not be able to keep up with my email for a while.

Fight Club press coming out
|
|
Even though Fight Club has been pushed back, there are a bunch of magazine articles on their way out to newsstands: Edward Norton will be on the cover of Vanity Fair's August issue,
both Brad Pitt and Edward Norton are on the cover of the August issue of Premiere magazine, and Us magazine has an article written by Fight Club author Chuck Palahniuk about his visit to
the set along with a pic of Norton and a pic of the person who inspired his character [Thanks to
vhaddadi, Cornella, Joanne, annicasvensson Chase432, and MHill36390]
Don't forget to check the VCR/mag alert page for a complete list of the articles that are out.

KTF pics
|
|
There are new pics in the Keeping the Faith Photo Gallery with many thanks to
vhaddadi for sending me a copy of
New Weekly, an Australian magazine that published the pics. Fight Club is featured in a few magazines: the Details July issue has an article with some interesting facts about the movie,
and Maxim July/August issue which recommends the movie, includes two pics from the movie, and has the first print ad for Fight Club, and don't for get to look at W magazine for an interview
with Brad Pitt about Fight Club [Thanks to FightClub9 and Wrchrethre for all the info!]. I've created a third list (is this some sort of compulsive behavior?), it is solely to announce current magazine articles and upcoming TV segments having to
do with Edward Norton. Find out more about the mailing lists!

Fight Club pushed to fall
|
|
Unfortunately, it's now been reported (Variety/Reuters 6/17/99) that the release date for Fight Club has been pushed back to the fall. No specific date was mentioned. The stated reasons for the delay
are "the combination of a hurried post production and a crowded summer schedule"

The first published photo from Keeping the Faith is in People Magazine (6/14/99) [Thanks to
Cornella for the info!]. It shows only Jenna Elfman's back and Ben Stiller.
Take a look. The Hollywood Reporter's production listing on Keeping the Faith was updated (6/7/99) to
include more of the cast: Anne Bancroft, Eli Wallach, Ron Rifkin, and Holland Taylor. Go to the Keeping the Faith page for more info on the movie. Pics of Edward Norton can be found in Celebrity Style (June/July issue), Detour (June/July issue), and

been in the Photo Gallery recently, you might want to take a look since I've added a few things and done a little reorganizing.

KTF filming starts
|
|
Filming for Keeping the Faith has begun. Army Archerd's column in Daily Variety (5/26/99) had the following comment:
Edward Norton, directing his first feature, Keeping the Faith for Spyglass/Disney in Union Square, was visited on the set by
director Gregory Hoblit, directing his New Line Frequency two blocks away. Hoblit gave Norton his first feature role in Primal Fear.
The proximity of the two pix is a blessing for Howard ``Hawk'' Koch -- he's producing both pix.

Thurs 5/20 at 6 am and noon [Thanks to Cornella for the info!].
Can't wait until The Phantom Menace? Here's another reason to go see it: the trailer for Fight Club is supposed to be one
of the previews shown before the movie (it apparently depends on the theater). A 5/17/99 Hollywood Reporter story ("Spyglass eyes French deal") mentions that production on Edward Norton's
next film and directing debut, Keeping the Faith, will start within the next two weeks. There are a number of magazine mentions of Edward Norton, most notably Movieline (talks about Edward Norton
and Ambush at Fort Bragg) [Thanks to Joanne for the info!], White's Guide to the Movies (where Norton
is listed among the "Criminally hip: Hollywood's Hottest 29") and FHM (which consists of a small q & a). For info on all of the magazines Go to
