American History XGerman Lobby Cards
The lobby card caption is in German and reads "Er ist sein Bruder. Und sein Opfer" which I believe translates to "He is his brother. And his victim." [Thanks to Eva for the correction!] The final card is different from the other AHX lobby cards since it lacks the bottom border and includes the credits and a summary in German which reads: Inhalt Gefangen in eniem Netz aus Rassismus und Hass, begeht der junge Derek in seinem Wahn schliesslich einen brutalen Mord. Drei Jahre spater, nach seiner Entlassung aus dem Gefangnis, hat er sich vollig gewandelt. Er schamt sich seiner Vergangenheit und will seine Familie vor der Gewalt beschutzen, die er einst uber sie brachte. Verzweifelt muss er um seinen jungeren Bruder kampfen, der ebenfalls schon fest in rechsradikalen Kreisen verankert ist. American History X ist ein schockierender Film uber die rechtsradikale Gewalt in den USA. Here is my weak translation Plot Summary Imprisoned in an network of racism and hate, the young Derek in its illusion finally commits a brutal murder. Three years later, after his release from prison, he has changed himself completely. He feels ashamed of his past and wants to protect his family from the violence, which he brought once more over it. In desperation, he must fight for his younger brother, who is likewise already firmly entrenched in extremist groups. American History X is a shocking film about extremist groups in the USA Note: The lobby cards are oversized and had to be scanned in sections. In order for the caption to be readable, the bottom section had to be enlarged and a "Kinowelt" logo was cut out. I found the lobby cards to be very attractive and tried my best to assemble the sections so that you would get the full effect (but they do look slightly different).
